Roni Rohr
Roni is a Nationally Board Certified teacher in early and middle school art. She teaches in Santa Fe, New Mexico at El Dorado Community School K-8. A 2016 New Mexico Golden Apple Fellow Roni has been honoredwith the 2015 New Mexico Middle School Art Educator of the Year and the 2011 New Mexico Art Educator of the Year. Roni developed the mentorship program for Visual Arts Educators within the Santa Fe Public Schools. A former faculty member at Massachusetts Art and Design for Teaching for Artistic Behavior,THE TAB Institute. Advocating for student voice and agency, Roni is also a designer passionate about collaboration and social justice within her own work and that of her students. As an educational consultant, she creates and collaborates on professional development for the New Mexico Museums, Meow Wolf, and others. She has worked with both the Lincoln Center and Kennedy Center pedagogies in Arts Integration in her state. Roni presents locally and nationally on topics of TAB, Teaching for Artistic Behavior and choice-based education, Design Thinking, Safe Spaces and Creating Community through the Arts. Roni was the 2020 keynote speaker for Colorado TAB. Her ENVISION work is highlighted in Studio Thinking from the Start, the k-8 Art Educator’s Handbook by Hogan, Hetland, Jaquith and Winner. She is published in both ScholasticArts and SchoolArts Magazine. Her professional development includes different modalities in art, specializing in integrating TAB and Choice with your district’s pedagogy.
Jessi Ruby
Jessi has a background in teaching TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior, 2017) and choice-based art education in kindergarten-8th grade settings. Jessi specializes in early childhood, blended learning, assessment, advocacy, STEAM, arts integration, and technology implemention. (She even created this website!) She completed her undergrad in art education at the University of Northern Colorado in 2007 and earned her master's degree in art education from the University of Nebraska in Kearney in 2017. Jessi is a co-founder of Colorado TAB, a non-profit organization that hosts year conference in January with over 100 participants. Jessi served as the Elementary Representative for the Colorado Art Education Association. She was recently honored with a Leadership Award from the Colorado Art Education Association in 2022. Jessi's notable articles include "The Studio Tracker" in SchoolArts and "Implementing Technology in a Choice Environment" in National Art Education Association (NAEA) News.
